The MetaSprint Series is the ideal way to venture into multi-sport. We expect any newbie triathlete to have quite a few questions, and that is normal.

What are the age restrictions?
Age category is determined by the participant’s age as of 31 December 2026. You can view the race categories here.
When is the entry deadline?
Registration will be closed once it reaches maximum capacity or on the specified closing dates, whichever is earlier.
I am unable to race. Can I get a refund?
No, entries are strictly non-refundable once confirmed. Please see our race policy here.
Can I sign-up on race morning?
There are absolutely NO onsite registrations taken on race day.
Do I have to qualify to enter the event?
No. Anyone can enter as long as you are fit, healthy and capable of completing the event. Do read the Health Advice page and consider the PAR-Q questionnaire before you take part.
Can I transfer my entry to another athlete if I choose not to race?
Individual race entries are non-transferable. Any person doing so may be subject to disqualification, at the discretion of the Race Organiser. The Organisers reserve the right to exclude both parties from future events.
What if it rains or there is inclement weather on race morning?
In the event of light to moderate rain, and the absence of any lightning, the race will proceed as planned. In case of lightning within a certain radius, safety being our top priority, the race may be modified, postponed or canceled.
What are the cut-off times on the course?
The XL Triathlon distance has a strict cut-off for the bike course. Athletes must pass the 38km mark of the bike course by 9:20am (2 hours and 5 minutes into their race) to complete the full distance. Athletes that miss the cut-off can still finish the race but will not be ranked in the results.
The Sprint, Discovery, Youth and Kids races have very generous cut-off times. No athlete has missed the cut-off time of any of the MetaSprint Series races so far.
Why do I need to register each participant individually?
We require individual registration and consent to the Terms and Conditions to ensure a safe experience for all participants. This policy is in place for legal and safety reasons.
Each adult must register separately and provide their own consent, while parents or legal guardians must provide consent for minor children (17 years old and below).
Is there official merchandise for purchase?
Yes, the MetaSprint Series 2026 Official Merchandise is available for purchase through the race registration form.

How will I receive my merchandise order?
Apparel items (Running T-shirt, Singlet, Cotton T-shirt, Rain Jacket, and Cap) will be mailed to the address provided during registration. We will notify you of the expected delivery date closer to the time.
Race belts and elastic laces will be packed with your race kit for collection on race day.
How do I choose my race entitlements?
You may choose one item each from two groups.
Please note that race entitlements are available to all categories except Fun Kids.
How do I collect my race pack?
Your race pack will be available for collection on-site on race day at the Race Kit Collection tent. There may be a queue for collection, participants are advised to arrive at least 1 hour before your race start time to collect your race kit.

Where do I get my timing chip?
Your timing chip will be included in your race pack.
Where do I pin my race number?
You will receive your race bib together with your race kit. You are required to wear your race bib during the run segment in the Aquathlon, Duathlon and Triathlon. It is not necessary on the bike leg. Should you choose to wear your race bib in the bike segment, it must be always worn at the back with your race numbers legible.
You can secure your race bib with a safety pin, in front of your running top. We will have safety pins on site. Alternatively, you can use a race belt to hold the race bib in place.
Will there be a pre-race briefing?
There will be no pre-race briefing. All important information will be available in the Race Guide on the website 10 days prior to the event and in the Final Announcement email on race week. We recommend that you read both attentively.
Can I practice on the bike course prior to the event?
Yes, you can practice the triathlon bike course.
The roads used for the duathlon bike course can also be cycled on, but not for the full course. The Nicoll Highway carriageway cannot be cycled in the opposite direction.
What should I wear?
Participants can wear any type of swimsuit during the swim. Men are allowed to swim bare torso.
For the bike and run leg, any type of clothing is allowed.
Strictly, no bare torso when running or cycling, anyone reprimanded can be penalized up to disqualification from the race.
Alternatively, you can invest in a Triathlon suit, you can wear this during the swim, bike and run.

Where can I find the event schedule?
As we approach race day, an indicative wave start schedule will be made available on the individual race pages: Aquathlon, Duathlon, Triathlon.
Start times will be allocated according to race and age category.
You may check the Schedule for each race here: Aquathlon, Duathlon, Triathlon. This information will only be available closer to race day.
Where can I leave my personal belongings?
We offer a Bag Deposit service for you to securely store your belongings during the race.
Where should I store the items required for both the Bike and Run segments?
There is a transition area where participants are designated a specific spot where they can set up their bike and run items before the start of the race.
After the swim, participants will go through the transition area to change to their bike gear and pick up their bike to take to the bike start.
After the bike, participants will go back to the transition area to rack their bike and put on their running gear (if applicable) and continue on the run.
Please remember to retrieve all your belongings from the transition area after the race.
Who can enter the transition area?
Only participants wearing the security bracelet are allowed to enter the transition area.
For the kid’s competition, participants are provided a “Parent Bracelet” in their race kit. This is for one parent/guardian to wear so they can enter the transition area to assist the athlete in setting up their transition at the start of the race. Once done, the parent must leave the transition area.
Please note that any help or assistance of any sort extended to the athlete during the race is not allowed. The athletes of any parent or guardian, who are found to violate this rule or the direction given by the race organiser, may be penalised or disqualified.
Is there a transition tour?
Yes, there will be a transition tour available for the kids’ category.
Am I allowed to ride my bike in the transition area?
No, riding bikes in the transition area is not allowed. You must push your bike through transition going to the mount line to start your cycle leg and push it from the dismount line back to your rack.
Am I allowed to run in the transition area?
Yes, running in the transition area is allowed.
Do I need to wear a helmet during the bike leg?
Yes, helmets are compulsory during the bike leg.
Do I need to wear a race bib during the bike leg?
No, you do not need to wear your race bib during the bike leg. But your bike flag must be attached to your seat post, and your helmet sticker placed on the front of your helmet.
Can I race with headphones or earbuds?
AthleteAthletes are prohibited from using headphones/earphones or any other similar device while racing, including cell phones, and will be disqualified for violating this rule.
What are the water conditions like?
The swim area for the Aquathlon is in Sentosa, which offers a perfect environment with its calm waters and scenic landscape.
The Triathlon swim will be at the East Coast Park, the area is more exposed to swells and currents but is still considered quite calm.
The water temperature will be approximately 28°C and easy to navigate, just follow the guide rope!
I’m a bit nervous about the swim, can I use a swim buoy?
Yes. We understand that swimming in the open water can be a nervous time. You can use a regulation swim buoy that buckles around your waist during the race.
Are wetsuits permitted?
No, wetsuits are not allowed, however, you can make use of a swimskin.
What should I do if I need assistance during the swim leg?
Swimmers in difficulty should signal by raising an arm to the escorting boat/kayak/stand-up paddle for assistance. If you are evacuated from the swim course, you will be checked by the medical team. If deemed medically fit, you may continue your race.
Do note however that you will be classified as DNF (“Did Not Finish”) in the official results for not completing the full swim course.
Holding the guide rope is acceptable but using it to pull yourself through the course can result in disqualification.
Are there any jellyfish in the water?
We expect good water conditions and no jellyfish. In case you do get stung, be assured that the medical team is ready to help.
What can I do to prevent jellyfish stings?
There is no guaranteed way to avoid jellyfish stings. However, wearing lycra swimwear or applying a protective lotion (e.g., Safe Sea) can help reduce the risk.
I don’t have a bike. Can I still participate?
You must arrange your own bike for the Duathlon and Triathlon. You can rent a bike from any bike shop for use on race day. Alternatively, once we announce our bike rental partner, you can also rent from them. It is crucial to ensure that your bike is in good condition.
Are there any restrictions on the type of bike?
Yes tandem, mono-wheel, recumbent, and motorised bikes are not allowed.
For kids’ bikes, having a kiddie stabiliser on the bike is not allowed.
It is your responsibility to make sure that the bike you use is road worthy before the race, and in good working condition.
Are aerobars allowed?
Yes, you can have aerobars on your bike.
Can I use my TT bike?
Yes, you can use your TT bike.
Is drafting allowed?
No, drafting is not allowed. The MetaSprint Series is a non-drafting race, so you must keep a 5m distance from the bike in front of you.
Does someone keep track of the number of laps I do?
No, you must count your own laps. However, the timing team / lap counters will check if everyone has completed the required number of laps after the race.
Are pacers allowed?
No, pacers are strictly not allowed. Athletes, in any race distance, with pacers will be penalised or disqualified.
Is there a water station on the course?
Yes, we have a water station on the run course.
Can I run bare torso?
No bare torso is allowed at any time.
Can I run barefoot?
Barefoot running is not allowed, shoes must be worn at all times during the run leg.
Do I need to wear my race bib during the run?
Yes, you must wear your race number clearly visible at the front of your apparel at all times during the run leg.
Can I run with headphones or similar devices?
No, using headphones or similar devices is not allowed at any time.
How many people can be in a relay team?
Aquathlon: 2 team members.
Duathlon and Triathlon: Each relay team can have 2 or 3 members. Teams can divide each segments among themselves.
Can we change our team members or switch roles after registering?
No. Team members and their assigned roles are fixed once registration is confirmed. Changing athletes or swapping disciplines is not permitted and may result in disqualification.
How do we collect our race kits?
Each relay team collects one race pack as the kit is packed together for the team. Inside, each team member will receive a disposable timing chip. For the Aquathlon relay, please note that only one race bib is provided, as only the runner is required to wear it.
How does the relay handover work?.
The relay exchange takes place inside the transition area at your designated spot. The athlete finishing their leg must pass the timing chip (worn on the ankle strap) to the next athlete. The chip must be securely fastened on the LEFT ankle of the outgoing athlete before they begin their leg.
Can team members accompany each other on the course?
No. Only the athlete racing that segment is allowed on course. Teammates cannot run or cycle alongside the active athlete — this would be considered pacing and may result in disqualification.
Do all team members receive a medal?
Yes, each relay team member will receive one finisher medal upon completing the race.
Are relay teams eligible for awards?
Yes, there are specific relay categories, and results will be ranked within those.
What do I do with my timing chip when the race is over?
The timing chips are disposable, you have the option to either dispose of the timing strap in the provided bin after the race or keep it as a souvenir to take home!
Where and when is the awards ceremony?
Trophies will be presented at the conclusion of each race at the event venue.
Do I receive a medal?
Yes, everyone will receive a medal unless you have “opted-out” of receiving a finisher medal during the race registration process.
Each relay team member will receive one medal each.
Where can I find my results?
Live results are available on the website as soon as you pass the finish line. These results are provisional. Official times will be posted on the Race Results page within 48 hours after the event.
Can I see my race result as soon as I finish my race?
Yes, you can access your finish time and splits by clicking on the live results link on the event website. This information will be continuously updated as athletes cross the finish line during the race. For enquiries or questions please email customerservice@metasport.com.
