EVENT SCHEDULE

• Check the schedule for the wave start times.

TIME SLOT

• Sprint & Sprint Relay: Book your time slot / wave start
• Elite, Discovery, Youth and Kids participants: No need to book a time slot. Your start wave will be communicated in the final announcement email.

GETTING THERE

Plan your travel
• Arrive 45 minutes before your wave start time.
• Check the venue map.
• Do not bring spectators.

CHECK YOUR BIKE!

• Ensure your bike, tyres, brakes and helmet are in good condition
• Bike mechanics will be available on event day for emergency repairs

RACE PLANNING

• Review the course map.
• Note how many laps you must complete for both bike and run.
• Check the ‘First timers’ guide for gear suggestions.

RACE FLOW
CHECK-IN

Collect your Race kit at the event venue on race morning

• Show your:
- Final announcement email with your bib number
- TraceTogether check-in screen to show your vaccinations status
• Collect your race kit

WHAT'S IN YOUR RACE KIT

• Security wristband
• Swim cap to be worn during the swim leg
• Bike flag for seat post
• Race bib to be worn on the front of your apparel
• Timing chip to be worn on your left ankle
• Extra “PARENT” wristband for Kids distance participants
• Extra “TEAM RUNNER” and “TEAM SWIMMER” wristband for the relay team

TRANSITION AREA

• An official will show you where to rack your bike
• Rack your bike on the bike rack, next to your chair
• Get dressed for the swim and prepare your bike and run gear for the race
• Locate the swim, bike, run entries and exits
• Leave your bag at your transition spot

WARM-UP

• You will be sent to the swim start 15 minutes prior to your race start. You may do a short swim warm-up in the designated area.

START AND SWIM COURSE

• Line up for the start while keeping a safe distance from fellow athletes
• One athlete will start at a time in a rolling start format

• Count your laps!
• Wear your race swim cap

BIKE COURSE

• Count your laps!
• No helmet, no race. Make sure you strap it securely under your chin.
• No drafting.
- Non-drafting rule:
- Keep 5m (ie. 3 bike lengths) distance from the cyclist in front
- Overtake within 15 seconds.
- Once passed, you must drop back out of someone’s draft zone (ie. 5m)
- ‘Stop and go’ penalties will be applied
- If shown a yellow card you must come to a full stop with both feet on the ground before being allowed to continue.
• Dismount before the dismount line and push your bike to transition.
• No riding in transition.

RUN COURSE

• Count your laps!
• No bare foot running.
• Wear your race bib on the front of your apparel before leaving transition (penalties apply)
• Drink stations every 2km

OTHER RULES TO ABIDE

• No headsets at any time during the race.
• No bare torso (ie cover the chest) at any time during the race

FINISH & RECOVERY AREA

• Collect a medal (unless you opted-out), and drinks
• Catch your breath in the recovery area
• Collect your bike and bag from transition and leave as soon as possible

POST-RACE

• Check out our live leaderboard with your result constantly updated.
• Share your result socially and hashtag us #metasprintseries
• Check final results after they have been published following the conclusion of the event.
• Download your e-certificate.

RELAY TEAMS TAKE NOTE
TEAM SWIMMER

• Enter the venue together with the team cyclist and runner
• Start wearing the relay bracelet and timing chip, “TEAM SWIMMER” event wristband
• Put the race swim cap on
• Place your bag in transition and move to the start
• Complete the swim course and head to the transition area
• Run to the “Relay Handover”
• Pass the relay bracelet to your team cyclist
• Make your way through transition to the Recovery area
• Collect medal and drinks

TEAM CYCLIST

• Enter the venue together with the team swimmer and runner
• Start wearing the event wristband
• Put the bike flag on your seatpost
• Drop your bike and bag at the Transition area, enter the Relay Handover area and wait for the team swimmer to complete the swim
• Complete bike course and place your bike in the transition area
• Run to the “Relay Handover” near the start of the run
• Pass the relay bracelet to runner
• Make your way through transition to the Recovery area
• Collect medal and drinks
• Collect your bike and bag and leave the venue

TEAM RUNNER

• Enter the venue together with the team swimmer and cyclist
• Wear the event “TEAM RUNNER” event wristband and race bib from the race kit
• Drop your bag at the Transition area, enter the • • Relay Handover area and wait for the team cyclist to complete the bike
• Collect the relay bracelet from cyclist
• Complete run course and cross the finish
• Collect medal and drinks
• Collect your bag and leave the venue
