TRIATHLON COURSE DESCRIPTION

The course will not just provide for a fast and exciting competition, but is also very competitor friendly.

  • Small Wave Starts: the number of athletes that start per wave are kept low to avoid the hectic surge into the water that sometimes comes with a beach start.
  • Easy Navigation: Lane ropes and tall buoys guide you around the swim course.
  • No overlapping wave starts: The race starts in such time intervals that only the very fast swimmers may catch up with the least fast of the previous wave.
  • Wide roads: which provide a lot of room for overtaking.
  • Straight roads: Only the spacious U-turns on the bike course require a minimum of cycling skills.
  • Shade: tree cover provides welcome protection from the sun on the bike and run course.
  • Drink station: stay hydrated and refreshed with a drink station every 1.5-2km on the run.
  • Festival: The pretty park, vendor booths at the festival area, vibrant atmosphere, races for all ages, and spectator friendly course makes the Triathlon a party for both the athletes and spectators.

Not the most advanced swimmer? Fear not, to navigate the new MetaSprint Triathlon swim course is easy peasy. After the start you take 2 left turns and you are back on your way to dry land. The course will have lane ropes all the way and big buoys to provide direction and mark the turns. Anyone who still gets lost needs to clear his goggles. Later in the morning there may be a some current, but the good news is that at the top end of the course you will be swimming with the current, if any.

DUATHLON COURSE DESCRIPTION

The duathlon offers a flat and fast ride with fewer laps and a less technical city course, perfect for a thrilling yet friendly competition.

  • Wide Start: a large pen start providing plenty of space for everyone to get into their stride from the siren.
  • Drink station: stay hydrated and refreshed with a drink station halfway through the run.
  • Straight roads: minimal cycling skills required to handle the two very wide U-Turns of the cycling course. Besides these, expect a wide, safe, flat and fast course.
  • Festival: The vendor booths at the festival area, vibrant atmosphere, races for all ages, and spectator-friendly city course makes the Duathlon a party for both the athletes and spectators. The setting of the F1 Paddock will provide a vibrant atmosphere against the legendary background of Singapore’s Premier Sports event, with a view on the Marina and Singapore’s Flyer.
